About John Weldon
Dr John Weldon is the Head of Curriculum in Victoria University’s First Year College (FYC). As such, he was intimately involved in the design, development and implementation of the revolutionary VU Block Model, and First Year Model. His current research interests lie in the area of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, especially as this relates to the First Year Experience.
Prior to his role in the FYC, John Weldon taught and researched in the field of Professional and Creative Writing in VU’s College of Arts and Education. His PhD research focused on the intersection of digital interactivity and the novel.
John is a published novelist and has worked as a freelance reporter and writer since the mid 1990s. His work has been published widely by organisations including: The Age, The ABC, The AFL, The Western Times and Overland.
