About Jingliang Dong

Jingliang Dong, PhD, is presently serving as a lecturer at the First Year College of Victoria University and contributing as a research fellow (ARC DECRA Fellow) at the esteemed Institute for Sustainable Industries & Liveable Cities (ISILC) within the same institution.

Dr Dong obtained his PhD degree in Biomechanical Engineering from RMIT University in 2015. After graduating, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Chongqing University, China, and a research fellow at RMIT University. In 2020, he was awarded a prestigious award and funding – Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA), by the Australian Research Council (ARC) to assist him in establishing and leading a research team to conduct particle inhalation exposure risk analysis and cross-species data extrapolation between animal-human airways. In addition, he also extended his research interests to a wider range, including:

  1. Inhalation therapy and targeted drug delivery
  2. The hemodynamic study of cardiovascular arteries
  3. Heat and mass transfer in fluid machinery
  4. Air pollution in urban street canyons and tunnels

Dr Dong has edited 1 book, led 3 special issues, authored 70 journal articles, 15 conference proceedings, and 3 book chapters.

Dr Dong's remarkable achievements as an Early Career Researcher are evident in his current global standing within the field of "Nasal Cavity; Computational Fluid Dynamics". According to data from the SciVal database (2020-2023), he ranks 3rd among the top 100 authors worldwide in terms of scholarly output and 8th in terms of citations. Dr Dong's research has been cited over 1,300 times, resulting in an h-index of 23, as reported by Google Scholar statistics (as of 15/10/2023).
