About Ehsan Yaghoubi

Dr Ehsan Yaghoubi is a lecturer in Civil Engineering with the College of Engineering & Science.

Prior to this, Ehsan was a Geotechnical Engineer at Coffey (Melbourne). He holds a PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) where he was awarded the Swinburne University Postgraduate Research Scholarship for the duration of his studies, and holds an MSc degree in Highway and Transportation Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (Iran).

Ehsan has more than 10 years of extensive experience in teaching, research and practice in the area of highway and geotechnical engineering. He has contributed to more than 40 infrastructure projects in Australia with a range of responsibilities including project management, design, and supervision of geotechnical investigations.

He has authored more than 20 technical reports including:

  • Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal (Area 1) Geotechnical Report for Level Crossing Removal Authority
  • Inland Rail Project (T2A Section) Geotechnical Report for Australian Rail Track Corporation and KBR
  • Pavement Assessment & Design of Various Roads for South Western Alliance (VicRoads)

Ehsan’s research focuses on the areas of unsaturated soil mechanics, recycled and waste materials in geotechnical applications and road pavement materials. He has published several papers in top-ranked geotechnical journals and presented in several high reputation conferences.
