About Bec Marland

Dr Bec Marland is a lecturer in inclusive education at Victoria University and research associate in ISILC. Presently, she convenes Education program courses for pre-service teachers and supervises post-graduate students undertaking Master’s and PhD research.

With extensive leadership experience in diverse educational settings both in Australia and internationally, Bec brings a wealth of expertise in fostering inclusive, equitable, and accessible learning environments. She is a passionate advocate for strengths-based practices, universal design, and proactive disability inclusion.

Bec is an integral part of the Placements Plus Program, which enhances the professional practice of pre-service teachers on placement in the Western region.

Her research is shaped by a comparative, international perspective, with a particular focus on policy development and advancing social justice in education.
