About Andrew Antiohos
Dr Andrew Antiohos is currently working as an academic teaching scholar of engineering in the First Year College. His research interests are in mechanical engineering, computational design and analysis, biomechanics engineering, and 'Block Mode' learning and teaching in STEM courses.
Andrew completed a BEng(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering with first class honors from Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. He was awarded the top student prize in mechanical engineering for each year of his undergraduate degree. Once graduated, he worked in the industry as a design engineer, with experience in fluid dynamics, hydraulics and finite element analysis. He was handed an industry award in leadership, creativity and innovation for his role in a major international project.
He received his PhD from Victoria University in 2015. His PhD research involved the investigation of a passive flow controller to mitigate the deleterious effects of turbulence and vortex-induced vibrations (VIV).
