Students start uni with sandcastles, slurpees and DJs

Victoria University students will chill out at a man-made beach while sipping slurpees and listening to DJs in a finale to this year's Orientation Week.

O Week is a chance for the thousands of students who are beginning university to mingle and learn more about their campus and course.

Organisers have put together 150 activity sessions across the University's 10 campuses involving 10 bands, 200 volunteers, three DJs and 50 marquees.

On Wednesday 9 March, a Footscray Park Campus courtyard will be transformed into a beach where students can enjoy a drink from the slurpee bar or enter a sand-building competition.

The media are invited to attend.
