Victoria University's Institute for Logistics and Supply Chain Management in association with Skills Victoria is presenting a third free industry educational seminar, 'Logistics & Supply Chain - The Lean Way, on Tuesday 18 November, at VU's Footscray Nicholson Campus.
There will be a panel of interesting and knowledgeable speakers followed by a Q & A discussion where participants will get the opportunity to gain further insight into specific areas of interest on this topic.

- Dr Pieter Nagel Director ILSCM, who will present his views on Lean Logistics from a global perspective
- Andrew Stewart, Intelog Pty Ltd, who will speak on applying Lean concepts within a logistics setting.
- Lindsay Wakefield, Safetech Pty Ltd, who will discuss his experience with implementation of 'Lean' concepts.
Some of the key issues addressed will be: How to gain a 'whole of' view of your value creation process; How to identify untapped and unseen business opportunities in terms of cost reduction and business growth; How to use the whole of supply chain view to align your stakeholders to the opportunities that will reduce cost, the waste of people's effort and time and grow the business; How to engage people in learning how they can make a difference; and How to identify risk - lack of skills and capability to deliver, supply and suppliers and market changes.

Bio Andrew Stewart:
For over thirty years Andrew Stewart, the Managing Director of Intelog, has been involved in business reviews and implementations in a wide range of industries in the areas of business development, strategy deployment, Process Thinking, quality systems, organisation structure, supply chain, manufacturing, physical distribution, information systems, mentoring, training and change management.
Andrew is one of the supply chain and change innovation leaders in Australia. He is a Lean Thinking Champion and a Lean Trainer having trained in the UK with Professor Peter Hines of Cardiff University. He is a well known speaker and has written a number of papers on subjects relating to business improvement and supply chain development.
Andrew is a member of the Logistics Association of Australia (LAA), Association of Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
