Campus sport

Staying fit and active can be a challenge, with university pressures, deadlines at work and family duties: but no fear! Thrive has a range of sports available, for students and staff to play without needing to register.

Walking, running & riding groups

Whether you like to walk, run or ride, do it with friends! Join one of these groups and socialise while you exercise. Groups are free and open to VU staff, students, and the wider community. All fitness levels are welcome.

Beach road cycling group that meets in Port Melbourne for a 50km round trip.

Health checks

University life can be a lot of fun but it can also be hard work, so it’s important that you look after your physical and mental health so you can make the most of your time. By attending the free health check, our Health Advisor will:

  • Record your height and weight to check BMI
  • Check your blood pressure and resting pulse
  • Measure waist and discuss results as per National Heart Foundation research
  • Provide basic dietary advice (optional)

Available for all VU students and staff.
