Apply for a one-off payment of $300 if you are a current International VU student located in Melbourne, have enrolled for 2022 and are experiencing ongoing financial difficulty.

Victoria University is continuing to focus on essential wraparound services that support student success. As such, in partnership with Global Victoria’s Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) and Study Melbourne through their International Education Resilience Fund 2022, we have launched an International Student Success Fund to support our international students who are currently experiencing financial hardship.

Eligibility

Eligible students

This fund provides a one-off $300 payment and is only available to continuing VU international students who meet the following criteria:

  • have a current and active enrolment of study at VU on application and not be on an approved Leave of Absence
  • studying onshore
  • have a current student visa
  • able to demonstrate ongoing loss of income or financial hardship as a result of the impacts of COVID-19.

Required documents

Documentary evidence must include a current bank statement. This must include the first page that shows account name, BSB and account number.

Additional documentation (at least one of the following):

  • letter from employer demonstrating an ongoing loss of income of 25% or more in 2022
  • rental arrears of $750+
  • statutory declaration (written statement that you sign and declare to be true and correct in the presence of an authorised witness; find information and access the statutory declaration form).
