Overview

Develop specialist skills to conduct skid steer loader operations and take advantage of the boom in infrastructure projects.

Containing a nationally recognised unit, this course will provide you with specialised training and practice to safely operate loaders on large construction sites.

Develop skills and knowledge in:

  • prestart checks and shutdown procedures
  • safely parking and securing equipment
  • driving and operating the equipment according to on-site conditions
  • carry out operational, maintenance and basic diagnostics.

At the successful completion of this training, you will be issued with the nationally recognised unit of competency in RIIMPO318E Conduct civil construction skid steer loader operations.

Course contents

In order to be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency, within the VET Non-Award Course TNABC Introduction to Civil Construction Skid Steer Loader Operations, a student must successfully undertake the following unit(s):

CORE UNIT

Recognition of Prior Learning and/or Credit Transfers

Previous completion of units at the Polytechnic or any other Registered Training Organisation and/or previous attainment of skills and knowledge may be credited towards this course.

Develop skills in skid steer operations in order to work on construction sites and infrastructure projects in the booming construction industry. You will gain hands-on experience in driving and operating equipment correctly, pre-start checks and shutdown procedures as well as tool selection and safe work practices.
 

At the successful completion of this training, you will be issued with the nationally recognised unit of competency in RIIMPO318E Conduct civil construction skid steer loader operations.

Admission requirements

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee you entry into this course.

Some courses receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation we will also assess your education, work and other relevant experience.
