Overview
Learn safe food handling knowledge for the workplace with a practical Food Safety Handlers short course.
This course is suitable for people involved in food preparation and provides basic hygiene principles for all food handlers. It includes the nationally accredited unit of competency SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety. You will gain hands-on skills and knowledge in:
- safe food handling
- safe preparation and storage of food items
- service and dispose of food
- food safety program procedures.
Course contents
In order to be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency, within the VET Non-Award Course TNAAB Food Safety Handlers, a student must successfully undertake the following unit(s):

CORE UNIT
Recognition of Prior Learning and/or Credit Transfers
Previous completion of units at the Polytechnic or any other Registered Training Organisation and/or previous attainment of skills and knowledge may be credited towards this course.
