Overview

Gain the skills and knowledge to enter and work within a confined space in accordance with an issued permit to conduct work.

Short course dates and times:

14 October 2019 8am–3.30pm Werribee Campus

This one-day course is designed to help you develop the skills necessary to operate within a confined space such as inside pipes, sewers and storage tanks safely and effectively.

You'll gain training in:

  • practical entry into a confined space
  • identifying confined space hazards
  • working safely within a confined space according to permits
  • operation of safety equipment within a confined space
  • safety and emergency procedures.

This course provides practical training either on a live worksite or in a simulated environment on campus using purpose-built facilities.

Careers

This qualification will allow you to work effectively within confined spaces in the construction industry.

Course contents

To be issued a Statement of Attainment for TNAAG Confined Spaces Induction, a student must successfully complete the core unit.

CORE UNIT

Recognition of Prior Learning and/or Credit Transfers

Previous completion of units at the Polytechnic or any other Registered Training Organisation and/or previous attainment of skills and knowledge may be credited towards this course.

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee you entry into this course.

Some courses receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation we will also assess your education, work and other relevant experience.
