VU students win SAP dashboard contest

Victoria University Master of Business student Eric Maure has won first place in an annual competition to design the best "sales dashboard" for a fictitious company with specialised SAP business software.

The Point Cook resident won the 2011 SAP Crystal Dashboard Design and an Apple iPAD against 25 other university students from VU, Monash and RMIT. He created the best dashboard for displaying sales revenue and gross profit by time, product, organisation and location for the fictitious world-class bicycle company, Global Bike International.

Entries were judged on several criteria including format, ease of use, output, functionality, response time and general "X factor," said Paul Hawking, SAP Academic Programs Director at Victoria University.

"This year we were looking for creative entries that clearly communicated complex data in a visually-appealing style and we that was exactly what we got."

The competition was open to all Australian university students and judged by a combination of SAP mentors and university lecturers.

Second-place finishers Michael Dauzet and Duc Pham Anh, and third place, William Chen, were also from Victoria University.

SAP is the world's leading provider of business software with more than 95,000 customers in over 120 countries, and stock market listings on several exchanges.
