VU’s inaugural Research Festival a great success

The inaugural VU Research Festival, comprising no less than 28 individual events, has closed for 2015, to great acclaim.

Highlights of the week-long celebration of research at VU have included:

Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Warren Payne said “The research festival is a wonderful showcase of the extraordinary research being undertaken by our staff and students.  I am particularly thrilled to see the number of very high quality projects that have focused on providing solutions to challenges being faced by industry and the community.  This reflects our exceptionally strong partnerships and engagement.”

Dr Melanie McGuire, Research Festival Coordinator and Manager, Researcher Development, said “We’ve had fantastic feedback from the research community about our festival and look forward to presenting our next annual celebration of research at VU."

Prizes for the Festival’s best events went to:

  • CRN Legacy Awards night
  • Poster sessions at the Footscray Park and City Queen campuses.
