Four VU academics are competing in the national final of the 5-minute Research Pitch Competition, which gives early and mid-career researchers the chance to explain their research to a general audience in five minutes.
Victoria University is proud to be hosting this year's final at the Flinders Street campus on November 6.
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Research Training) Professor Warren Payne said it was a great opportunity for researchers to further develop the communication skills for translating their research as part of their knowledge exchange mission.
“The competition is a great chance to showcase our research talent to an external audience and it is really important for our research community that we are there in force to show our support,” Professor Payne said.
VU competitors are:
- Dr Stefan Schutt, College of Arts
- Dr Jeremy Drake, College of Health & Biomedicine
- Dr Gayathri Rajaraman, College of Health & Biomedicine
- Dr Roger Bodman, College of Business
They will battle it out with staff from Australian Catholic University, Edith Cowan University, Federation University and Southern Cross University.
The competition will be from 2pm to 5.30pm on Thursday 6 November in Room 1101, 11th floor, Victoria University, 300 Flinders Street Melbourne.
Come along and support our academics.
