About the WOW Festival

The flagship event of the Women of the World Festival was created by Southbank Centre London in 2010, and has since been held in 17 cities across five continents, including US, Egypt, India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

Now it's Melbourne’s turn. WOW Melbourne aims to empower, support and encourage women to connect, build networks and inspire change.

From Thursday 23 March – Saturday 25 March 2017, Footscray Community Arts Centre, with major festival partner Victoria University, presents this diverse three-day festival.

The event explores ideas, culture, gender, film, dance, and visual art along with a series of workshops and panels that takes an unflinching look at gender diversity and encourages critical conversations in a local and global context.
