We invite you to attend the Unstoppable: Breaking the Barriers art exhibition, showcasing submissions from Wintringham residents, who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Wintringham is a special aged care facility and not-for-profit welfare organisation created to address elderly homelessness.
This year, they are recognising Homelessness Week with its annual Art Show, which displays a series of art works from clients, many aged 50+ years, who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The exhibition titled Unstoppable: Breaking the Barriers, is a tribute to those who have struggled with stereotyping, prejudice and often have experienced a system that has let them down.
Highlighting Wintringham's social justice values, this art show exhibits works from the incredible people who Wintringham help to have the same opportunities as everyone else for living a dignified life.
Members of the public are invited to join us for the launch event at VU at MetroWest in Footscray, from 2pm on Monday 5 August.
At the launch, the winning entrants to feature in the 2020 Wintringham calendar and 2019 Christmas cards will be announced. There will also be a short film to watch (insight into the life of a client), along with cake to celebrate Wintringhams' 30 years in operation.
The exhibition will be on display until 9 August.
