Student entrepreneurship in tourism competition
This event has already taken place.
Come and support VU students competing for a $4000 Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) Student Entrepreneurship Award, on Thursday 28 June.
VU is one of five institutions who have been invited to participate in the VTIC award for tertiary students whose entrepreneurial ideas have the potential to strengthen Victoria's visitor economy.
Entrepreneurial ideas on show
The competition, to be held at VU's City Flinders Campus, showcases the ideas of eleven VU competitors – both individuals and teams.
To win the award, students must present a financially viable business idea that will satisfy a current or future need in the visitor economy. A judging panel will include VU staff and industry representatives, with the prizes to be awarded by VTIC Executive Director, Felicia Mariani.
Career opportunities & $14,000 in prizes
The winners will take away the $4000 prize, and all competitors will receive free passes to the Peninsula Hot Springs.
Victoria University's winners will also compete against students from Holmesglen Institute, Swinburne University of Technology, La Trobe University and William Angliss Institute for a further $10,000 at the VTIC annual conference, where they will present their idea to industry leaders.
