We have a variety of activities for you to choose from, including sport sessions, candle making, paint by numbers sessions, a virtual scavenger hunt and more.

Stress Less Fest activities

Competition opens Sunday 18 October 2020, 4pm

How do you manage stress during exam time?

Share your tips and the most creative answer will win a prize!

Winner has the option of a $100 Officeworks voucher or a $100 prize pack from Lush.

Come along to a fun online scavenger hunt where you will compete with a team to each win a $100 voucher from your choice of Netflix, JB HI-FI or Uber.

Students will be placed in teams where they will be given challenges to complete.

You will be able to make some new friends and win some awesome prizes!

VU Counsellor Julie Burn will discuss how getting outside is an excellent way to manage stress.

The session will explore simple ways of engaging with nature that you may not have thought of.

You will be posted out a kit that includes all the materials that you need to make your very own candles! 

We will be holding a live session where you can create your multicoloured candles with other students of VU.

Register to receive a free paint-by-numbers kit and join us as we paint together over Zoom!

You will receive one of three beautiful designs at random (sunflower, panda or koala) and the Zoom details of 2 session options where you will be able to paint live with other VU students.

Conditions:

  • must be in Australia to receive the paint by numbers kit
  • must be a current VU Student to participate
  • Student Life cannot guarantee that you will receive your kit prior to the live session.

Thursday 29 October, 1-1.30pm

VU Counsellor, Adriana McMahon, will discuss ways to respond creatively to emotional challenges to enhance wellbeing, reduce anxious thoughts and stress habits, including unwanted behaviours such as avoidance, procrastination and physical discomfort.

Virtual Team Training is a series of fun but challenging sessions targeting different areas of the body, run by personal trainers.

Each person works at their own pace, making it perfect for beginners through to the advanced, with different progressions available for each exercise.

The program changes from week to week, so there is no chance of getting bored.

You'll be part of an awesome group, with every member striving towards their own health and fitness goals.

We'll keep you inspired while you are living, studying, working, and keeping active all in your own home.

Sessions run for 45 minutes.

Hosted by: VU Sport.

Sessions are held Monday–Saturday each week.

VU Sport offers the following group exercise classes live online via Zoom:

  • boxing (60 minutes)
  • self myofascial release - SMR (foam rolling) (30 minutes)
  • spin (45 minutes)
  • yoga (60 minutes)
  • Zumba (60 minutes).

In addition, a pre-recorded session will be posted on Facebook every Saturday morning for you to do anytime over your weekend.

The Outfield is a free initiative for all male Victoria University students.

The program provides engagement opportunities for students who identify as male to shift repetitive routines, and address feelings of social isolation and loneliness associated with COVID-19.

The program offers structured activities in a weekly timetable.

Activities include show and share, Broga (yoga for men), run club, eSports, guest presenters and more.

Hosted by: VU Sport.

The VU Women Get Active program is a free initiative for all female Victoria University students.

Each session includes a mini workshop component (20 minutes) followed by a physical activity component (40 minutes).

It is suited to anyone who identifies as female, and wants to be more active, start good exercise habits, and get back into exercise after taking a break, or who is just finding it difficult to create consistency with an exercise routine.
