This event has already taken place.

Thursday 28 February 2019

You are invited to a public lecture, 'Psychosocial justice for students in custody', given by Dr Tim Corcoran on behalf of the Students in Custody research team.

Dr Tim Corcoran's public lecture will discuss aspects from the project ‘Improving Educational Connection for Young People in Custody’.

The presentation overviews a study recently undertaken of Victoria's youth justice system, within the Victoria University research group ISILC (Institute for Sustainable Industries & Liveable Cities) in collaboration with researchers from Deakin and the University of Tasmania.

The study worked with project partner Parkville College to examine how education can be improved for young people by investigating these questions:

  1. What assists young people to take part in education while they are in custody?
  2. What helps young people to plan for education after release from custody?
