Picturing Footscray has been bringing community together since 2016. This year, it is bringing people together remotely.
View 150 photographs that celebrate and explore Footscray in unique ways in our fifth annual exhibition for the Picturing Footscray Photography Prize.
Ranging from landscapes and portraits that are quintessentially 'Footscray' to creative interpretations from the confines of isolation, Picturing Footscray 2020 documents a moment in time that juxtaposes the vibrancy of this inner west suburb with the loneliness of a pandemic.
Online prize announcements
Join us online for the prize announcements, where local burlesque performer Miss Friby will take us on a journey to learn the winners of the first, second, third and student prizes. She will be joined, virtually, by judge Cameron Cope on behalf of the panel, Karen Jackson from VU's Moondani Balluk, and Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Students) Naomi Dempsey.
Tune in to the announcements via VU in the Community on Facebook at 7pm on Thursday 13 August.
