Melbourne CGE Modelling Workshop - August 2019

The Centre of Policy Studies, Victoria University, will host a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) workshop in August 2019 in Melbourne's city centre.

The National CGE Workshop is an annual event that provides a forum for CGE modellers to exhibit and discuss their work.

This year’s workshop will be held in Melbourne at Victoria University.

Keynote Speaker

Professor Maureen Rimmer, Centre of Policy Studies, Victoria University

Professor Rimmer is the author and co-author of 60 scholarly published articles, appearing in mathematics and economics journals and edited volumes. Her main area of expertise is model development and application. With Peter Dixon, she is the co-developer of the Monash model of the Australian economy and the co-author of the MONASH book which was published in 2002 in North-Holland’s Contributions to Economic Analysis

Over the last fifteen years Professor Rimmer has been a key contributor in the development, application and documentation of USAGE, a 500-industry, dynamic model of the U.S. economy.

Submit a paper for presentation

Participants wishing to present can indicate their interest as part of the registration process.

The deadline to submit an abstract for consideration is July 12 2019. Participants will be informed whether their presentations have been accepted by July 26 2019.

Presenters may bring copies of their paper to distribute at the workshop. Papers and presentations will be made available online after the workshop.

Program, registration & venue

The program for the CGE Modelling Workshop will be available after we have confirmed presenters.

Registration is free. Lunch, morning and afternoon tea will be provided.

The CGE Modelling Workshop will be held at Victoria University’s City Campus, Level 12, 300 Flinders Street, Melbourne, VIC

An informal dinner will follow the workshop (at participant's expense) and participants can indicate their interest in attending the dinner when registering.


Participants are required to arrange their own accommodation.
