Join us for the launch of From Grains to Gold, a collection of poems by Magan Magan.

Magan is a writer and poet studying creative writing at Victoria University. Published by Vulgar Press, From Grains to Gold is his first collection of poems. Each chapter delves into the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

About the author

Magan Magan has read his work at the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Young Writers Festival, the Emerging Writers Festival and La Mama Poetica. His work has been published in Hyde magazine, literary arts journal ‘Offset’, Cordite Poetry Review and anthologies ‘Shots From The Chamber’, ‘Hunter Anthology of Contemporary Australian Feminist Poetry’ and Australian Poetry. Magan is currently co-editing forthcoming anthology ‘Growing Up African In Australia’ and is publishing his first collection of poems, titled: From Grains to Gold, with Vulgar Press. 

Book launch

Join Magan Magan for the launch of his book on Saturday 8 December, where he will read an excerpt with Nour Abouzeid at the MC. 

Refreshments will be provided and the reading will be translated to AUSLAN by Laura Abela.
