Join Engineers Australia for a careers conference designed to help you kick-start your career!

This event is exclusive to Victoria University engineering students. Come along on Thursday, 5 April, to hear global and Australian organisations share key insights on how to get your career off to the right start.

Speakers will provide an overview of:

  • what’s happening in the Australian engineering job market
  • how to find work in engineering
  • the importance of successful networking
  • getting yourself seen and heard in today’s fast-paced recruitment environment.

The seminar will include keynote speakers, industry panel discussions, hands on masterclasses and industry networking.


1.30pm - 1.45pm – Arrival and registrations

1.45pm - 2pm – Welcome by Professor Farzad Khosrowshahi Dean, College of Engineering and Science, Victoria University

2pm - 2.45pm – Keynote speaker Peter McNamara, Business Manager, Recruiting experts in rail and infrastructure, Hays Recruitment

2.45pm - 3.30pm – Industry panel discussion with engineers with about five years of industry experience

3.30pm - 3.40pm - Afternoon tea

3.45pm - 4.30pm – Master classes (choose one)

  • First and second year engineering students: Personal brand management
  • Third and fourth year engineering students: Overview of the Australian employment market. What’s happening and how does it affect you?

4.30pm – 5.15pm – Industry Panel Discussion with Senior Engineers

5.15pm - 5.30pm – Summary and close

5.30pm – 6.30pm – Industry networking and refreshments


The conference is free, and limited spaces are available. Registration closes on Wednesday 4 April at 5pm.
