About VU

Concerning, threatening or inappropriate behaviour

Everyone has the right to a safe and secure learning and working environment. We care about the safety and wellbeing of everyone who visits our campuses.

We understand that concerning, threatening or inappropriate behaviour might affect you during your time at VU, regardless of where it takes place. If you or someone you know is affected by concerning behaviours, Safer Community can provide specialist advice, assistance and referrals to support.

The pages in this section provide information to help you understand different types of concerning, threatening or inappropriate behaviour that might affect you, or someone you know. The information includes:

  • definitions of these behaviours
  • information, statistics and resources about these behaviours
  • what you can do if you or someone you know experiences concerning, threatening or inappropriate behaviour
  • how the behaviour affects the LGBTQIA community
  • where you can get help on and off campus.
