The University is led by Professor Adam Shoemaker, who became the fourth Vice-Chancellor and President of Victoria University on 14 December 2020. The Vice-Chancellor is appointed by the University Council and is responsible to Council for ensuring that the University is well led and managed, for promoting its educational excellence and for securing its financial sustainability.

The Chancellor, Steve Bracks, as the Chair of the University Council, is the champion of effective and ethical governance, and leads a dynamic team of councillors in their strategic decision making and oversight of the University’s operations.

Incoming revised structure

VU's organisational leadership is currently in transition. The following executive team has been appointed:

  • Professor John Germov, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Higher Education
  • Professor Andy Hill, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research & Impact (commencing January 2022)
  • The Honourable Wade Noonan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor External Relations and Partnerships
  • Professor Peter Radoll, Deputy Vice-Chancellor People & Organisation (commencing January 2022)
  • Ms Dianne Semmens, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Vocational Education.
