Student turned teacher

Just weeks after finishing her postgraduate degree at Victoria University (VU), Shreysha Shrestha found herself swapping roles from student to teacher.
The former Nepalese international student is now employed as a sessional teacher at VU, teaching the very same software-related subjects she learnt last year in her Master of Project Management.
It follows a year of success for Shreysha, who was awarded the AMP Capital Investor Award from global investment management firm AMP Capital in 2018, based on her academic performance in the subject of project investment analysis.
She says she chose VU to advance her career and build on the knowledge she gained from an undergraduate degree in architectural engineering from Kathmandu Engineering College.
“When I finished my degree I started working as an architect but I realised you need to know a lot about managing projects, so that’s why I opted for this masters course at VU,”

The classes are always full of people from different cultural backgrounds so you get to interact with them and learn from them.
