Some notes about the email system:

You can also configure your mobile devices to be able to check email when off campus. Refer to the ITS support page on setting up your mobile for mail.

IT support

VU's Information Technology Services (ITS) department provides a wide range of services for staff including:

  • computers and software (acquisitions, software & licensing, iPads and iPhones)
  • communication services (desktop phone setup, emails, mobile phones, mailing lists, Office Communicator)
  • teaching and learning support (VU Collaborate, ReVU and and open access labs)
  • networks and internet (wireless networks, VPN, shared drives, printing and fax services)
  • the MYVU Portal.

Login to the Intranet to access the full list of IT services for staff.

Log a service request online

Report a fault or service request online - login using your MYVU Portal or Active Directory (AD) username and password (same as your staff email login details).

As a staff member this eliminates the need for you to contact the Service Desk. You'll be able track the progress of lodged jobs, add more information, and communicate with an IT service Desk Analyst while they're working on your Incident or Service Request.

When you submit an Incident or Service Request, the Service Desk analysts will process as soon as possible.

Phone the IT service desk

You can contact the IT Service Desk via phone on +61 3 9919 2777 for all ITS related problems, or queries from anywhere within the University.

During semester

Monday to Thursday: 8am - 9pm
Friday: 8am - 5pm.

Semester break

Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 5pm.

Outside operating hours

Probably the best thing to do outside of our operating hours is report a fault or service request online.

If you phone us outside our operating hours you will be connected to our voicemail system. When leaving a voicemail message, please leave a detailed description of the problem or request and include your:

  • name
  • phone number
  • staff ID
  • department
  • location.
