Login to staff tools
Staff can access their VU email account at any time, on or off campus, by logging into University webmail.

Some notes about the email system:
- Messages older than 60 days will be deleted from the Inbox only. This task occurs every Saturday morning.
- Messages older than 45 days will have the attachment and graphics 'shortcutted' into the central archive. This rule applies to all folders.
You can also configure your mobile devices to be able to check email when off campus. Refer to the ITS support page on setting up your mobile for mail.
The Intranet contains information and services for staff.
Stay up to date with the latest news and events, professional development opportunities and research undertaken by the university and our partners.
Log on to the Intranet to access various services available through People & Culture, ITS, Finance, Marketing & Advancement, Facilities and internal applications such as eGuide (staff look up) and HR Zone.
Staff portal(MYVU Portal)
When you log in to MYVU Portal with your staff ID, you will be able to access the following applications:
- STAFF CONNECT
- SES or Academic Workloads
- VU Collaborate
- My ePortfolio
- VU wiki
- VU communities
- Staff Assist VU (SAVU) - staff related FAQs.
TIP: You can also add the Bookmarks portlet to MYVU Portal and add links to your favourite or frequently used websites.
Log in to HR Zone to access your payslips, book leave, update your details or sign up for personal and professional development.
To log in, use your Active Directory (AD) staff number (e.g. eXXXXXXX) and password (the same one you use to log in to your computer).

VU's Information Technology Services (ITS) department provides a wide range of services for staff including:
- computers and software (acquisitions, software & licensing, iPads and iPhones)
- communication services (desktop phone setup, emails, mobile phones, mailing lists, Office Communicator)
- teaching and learning support (VU Collaborate, ReVU and and open access labs)
- networks and internet (wireless networks, VPN, shared drives, printing and fax services)
- the MYVU Portal.

Log a service request online
Report a fault or service request online - login using your MYVU Portal or Active Directory (AD) username and password (same as your staff email login details).
As a staff member this eliminates the need for you to contact the Service Desk. You'll be able track the progress of lodged jobs, add more information, and communicate with an IT service Desk Analyst while they're working on your Incident or Service Request.
When you submit an Incident or Service Request, the Service Desk analysts will process as soon as possible.

Outside operating hours
Probably the best thing to do outside of our operating hours is report a fault or service request online.
If you phone us outside our operating hours you will be connected to our voicemail system. When leaving a voicemail message, please leave a detailed description of the problem or request and include your:
- phone number
- staff ID
