Westjustice

Victoria University (VU) and Westjustice have announced a new partnership to deliver meaningful social impact and new economic opportunities for the people of Melbourne’s west.

Together, VU and Westjustice will work together to drive impact, including the co-ordination of advocacy and delivery on shared priorities in youth wellbeing, student employment and social inclusion.

Key priorities

Co-delivering the Wyndham Community Services Hub and greater alignment with VU’s Werribee Campus.

Co-delivering place-based community programs that create pathways to employment and respond to local needs.

Enhancing student engagement through structured learning placements, input into course design and employment outcomes across a range of disciplines.

About our collaboration

Victoria University (VU) and Westjustice have come together in a major partnership that builds on a long-standing relationship between the two organisations.

As leading institutions in education and Law, VU and Westjustice are both deeply rooted in Melbourne’s west—playing vital roles as major employers and community service providres. Victoria University (VU) has previously engaged with Westjustice through law student placements and research collaborations, including the Paul Ramsay Foundation-funded Pathways in Place project.

This new collaboration focuses on creating impactful opportunities across several key areas, including student placements and employment pathways in Law, Social Work, Community Development, IT, Business and Cyber. It will opens doors for collaborative research, shared advocacy initiatives, and joint planning around infrastructure and future growth—particularly around Werribee Campus, where both organisations have a strong community presence.

VU and Westjustice are well-known progressive organisations that work for and service the community of Melbourne’s west. Together, the new partnership builds on the collaborative, integrated service model of both organisations. Westjustice is proud to be led by its clients in designing its services and advocacy priorities and VU is a partnering university, committed to inclusion, opportunity and success – enriching both lives and careers.

Together, VU and Westjustice are committed to delivering a partnership which offers multidisciplinary opportunities for collaboration across research, advocacy, and delivery of community services —particularly in connection with the new Wyndham Law Courts opening in late 2025.
