3D printing is changing the way we approach design, making what was once impossible easily accessible and fast. Ideal for beginners, this intensive workshop will teach you 3D design in TinkerCAD and Fusion 360, as well as an understanding of rapid prototyping and its potential in today's workforce.
Based at our brand-new Future Skills Accelerator in the Sunshine Skills Hub at our Sunshine Campus, you will learn how to harness 3D technology to develop your own ideas and products from conception through to print.
This course is designed for people with little or no 3D experience who are keen to learn how they can harness 3D technology to further develop their own ideas and products into a physical prototype.
Prepare yourself for the new digital world of work with a skillset in rapid prototyping, 3D modelling and 3D design using CAD software.
This short course delivers the foundational knowledge to work with 3D technology and to understand rapid prototyping and its potential in today’s workforce.
You will gain competencies in:
- Design thinking;
- Basic fundamentals of 3D printing and additive manufacturing;
- Understanding the operating principles, capabilities and limitations of 3D printing;
- 3D design in TinkerCAD and Fusion 360, and;
- Creating a project from conception through to print.
Upon completion of this course, you will have an understanding of how to harness 3D technology to develop your own ideas and products. You will gain the skills to plan and develop 3D design solutions as well as see a project through from conception to print.
This course is suited for you if you have little or no 3D experience, and are looking to try something new and exciting. You may also be currently working in a manufacturing, engineering or entrepreneurial sector and you are interested in learning how to develop an idea/concept into a finished solution for presentation.
