At our brand-new Future Skills Accelerator in the Sunshine Skills Hub, you'll work with social robots to use code to design, test and implement solutions. Get to know Choreograph, Python and JavaScript and how these languages are used in social robotics to solve real-world problems.

This beginner course is perfect for anyone who is interested in upskilling for work purposes, or wants to try something fun and new.

No prior knowledge of programming or robotics is needed. However, we do recommend that course participants have a solid understanding of using a computer.

Learning outcomes

Gain an introduction to programming languages using Python, JavaScript and Choreograph, combined with user-friendly social robotics.

You will gain competencies in:

  • Design thinking;
  • Python programming at a foundation level;
  • JavaScript programming at a foundation level;
  • Choreograph programming, and;
  • Programming of a NAO robot to perform a simple task.

Upon completion of this program, you will gain an understanding of programming languages, especially-industry standard Python and JavaScript as well as the application of social robotics in society.

You will be able to develop and present a design solution to a problem, utilising the NAO robots to implement your recommended approach.
