Overview

Develop the skills and knowledge to manage food safety in the workplace.

This course is suitable for managers, owner-operators or supervisors in the hospitality industry. It includes the nationally accredited unit of competency SITXFSA002 Participate in safe food handling practices.

You will learn how to:

  • monitor and record food hazards
  • understand organisational food safety programs, procedures and documents
  • monitor food safety techniques
  • minimise the risks of food contamination.

This course consists of face-to-face learning plus pre-course online theory. You will be required to complete an eLearning module prior to attending the practical face-to-face session.

Course contents

In order to be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency, within the VET Non-Award Course TNAAC Food Safety Supervisor (Hospitality), a student must successfully undertake the following unit(s):

CORE UNIT

Pre-entry requirement: It is essential that anyone undertaking this unit, hold the following pre-requisite unit: SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety

Recognition of Prior Learning and/or Credit Transfers

Previous completion of units at the Polytechnic or any other Registered Training Organisation and/or previous attainment of skills and knowledge may be credited towards this course.
