Multi-sport program

Our multi-sport program is perfect for sports fanatics! Your kids can learn skills across a range of sports.

The program will be running at Footscray Park Campus April 2026:

  • Friday 10 April – basketball, netball & volleyball
  • Monday 13 April  – AFL, rugby & soccer
  • Thursday 16 April – racquet sports (tennis, pickleball & lacrosse.

About the multi-sport program

Activities

By the end of the week your kids will have a new spring in their step!

Your child will be placed with players of a similar age and skill level. They will develop sport-specific and other life skills across a range of new and traditional sports.

Your kids will:

  • learn fundamental motor skills crucial to ball sports and activities
  • practise and refine their skills through a variety of drills and games
  • learn how to play team-sports such as:
    • dodge-ball
    • futsal
    • handball
    • netball
    • soccer
    • basketball
  • improve their general fitness and confidence.

Pool activities

We'll break up the day and have some fun in the Footscray Park Aquatic & Fitness Centre pool. Your kids can play on the inflatable obstacle course and take part in water-based activities.

Trained lifeguards will be on duty at all times.

Proficiency test

All children must complete a proficiency test on their first day of the program if they would like to go in the water. Please note this is a safety requirement. The test is as follows:

  • Seated safe entry into 1.2m (depth) lane
  • Tread water for 30 seconds unassisted
  • Swim 12.5m unassisted
  • Tread water for 30 seconds unassisted in 2m (depth) lane
  • Swim 12.5m unassisted and exit the water safely
  • Jump feet first into deep water from the diving block

Please note: only children aged 6 and above who are deemed as competent in the proficiency test will be allowed on the inflatable.

What to bring

To get set for a week of activities, your child will need:

  • runners
  • shorts
  • t-shirt
  • hat
  • sunscreen
  • water bottle
  • bathers
  • towel
  • thongs
  • snacks
  • healthy lunch.

Please note: we require asthma, allergy, medication and/or behavioural forms to be provided as relevant. These are available under about our programs.

Cost

One-day program: $76

Please note: Our programs cannot be claimed on the Child Care Benefit (CCB) claim.

Location

Our multi-sport holiday program is located in the Footscray Park Aquatic & Fitness Centre, Building L.

Please meet at Building L, Level 1, basketball courts.

All activities happen within our high-quality facilities which form part of the University’s elite sport and exercise precinct. Our facilities include:

  • ovals located at the entrance to the sport and exercise precinct
  • two indoor basketball courts
  • two multi-purpose courts
  • indoor 25m x 25m heated swimming pool.
