Study at VU

Dream come true for Endeavour scholar

With a strong SAP focus embedded in its learning and teaching – including home to Australia’s first and only SAP Next-Gen Lab – Victoria University (VU) was at the top of Prasat Sum’s international study wish-list.

"I chose VU because of its strong relationship with SAP, which is a leader in enterprise systems,” Prasat, who is studying VU’s Master of Business (Enterprise Resource Planning Systems)."

"Up to 80% of the top 2,000 companies in the world use SAP so it’s great to be using and learning the software that so many innovative companies around the world use,” he says.

"I really like the curriculum of the course because it provides the knowledge and skills required for successful implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.”

Prasat joined VU earlier this year, building on a Bachelor of Computer Science and a Master of Information Technology from the Royal University of Phnom Penh, his Cambodian hometown.

His VU studies are made possible thanks to the Australia Awards Endeavour Scholarship scheme – a prestigious, merit-based scholarship funded by the Australian Government to support overseas citizens to undertake study, research or professional development in Australia.

"It’s an honour because it’s a prestigious scholarship and it gives me the opportunity to study in a high quality university in Australia.

"Because of this scholarship, I’ve had the opportunity to pursue my dream to study abroad in Australia.”

Ranking in the top 2% of universities worldwide in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2018, VU has a strong track-record of excellence in computer science, currently ranking 9th in Australia. Our engineering and technology discipline ranks in Australia’s top 14 by the THE  World University Rankings by Subject 2018.
