Study at VU

Seizing every opportunity

Driven by his passion for rugby, Eoin McVeigh is forging a career in London as a performance analyst.

“I learned early on that it’s important to study something you are passionate about.

"During my studies, my placement at the Melbourne Rebels rugby club and working for VU, I acquired skills that have helped me get to where I am today and where I hope to be in the future.

"But I think the most important thing I gained from my VU experience is the attitude that you get out what you put in. Opportunities may present themselves, but you have to be ready to make the most of them.

"I also made the most of the services VU has to offer – study groups, private tutors, proof readers and study labs – I tell everyone to take advantage of it.

"I’m now working in my dream job in London as a performance analyst for Saracens Rugby Club.

"My motto is ‘do what you love and you will never work a day in your life’. Yes, it is a cliché, but I am so grateful to say that I love getting up in the morning and going to work!”
