Engineering professional experience

Follow our steps to complete your engineering industry experience at Victoria University (VU).

To qualify for accreditation by Engineers Australia (EA), engineering students must complete a minimum of 450 hours of approved Engineering Professional Experience. Engineering Professional Experience (related to engineering) is required for all undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree and for all postgraduate students pursuing a Master of Engineering (coursework) degree. 

You are required to complete a placement in a professional engineering workplace that meets the requirements of your course or specialisation. Engineers Australia (EA) Stage 1 Competencies are generally fulfilled in this area.
