The People, Place and Planet Festival brings together the VU community to celebrate our achievements, inspire one another, and engage with issues that matter to us.
Show you care – and help us to build a better future – by sharing your knowledge and taking actions that will have a positive impact on the health of people, place and planet.
You will learn about the essential elements of sustainability while participating in fun activities. Take part to discover new techniques to improve your mental health, and explore innovative ways to help protect planet and Country.

Wildlife animal display
Get up close and personal with some of our amazing wildlife. Learn what is threatening the survival of our local animals and what you can do to help protect them.
Plantable Paper cards
Bring along your creativity and decorate plantable paper cards. Plant them at home after the festival and watch them grow into various plants!
Make art from repurposed plastic
Release your creativity in a whole new way with a unique art activity, presented by the VU Plastic Solution Project. Instead of traditional materials, you’ll be using shredded plastic to create art on canvas. Not only will you be making something beautiful, but you'll also be contributing to a cleaner environment by repurposing materials that might otherwise end up in landfills or oceans. So join us and let's turn trash into treasure through the power of art!
Clothing donation
Donate your clean, well-tended clothes to the VU Student Union Clothing Swap and support your fellow students! The Clothing swap is currently located at Footscray Park (Building M, Room 122) & Footscray Nicholson (Building T, Room 130) Campuses in the Pride rooms.
Sensory Zone

Footscray Community Arts Centre Cultural Dance & Movement Workshop
Join Nigerian dancer and choreographer, Dagogo Obogo for his Afrobeats dance class from 12noon to 1pm. The Dagogo will get you feeling confident in your skin, while learning cultural elements from West African musical styles. Get excited for an up-tempo, enjoyable movement experience for people of all dance abilities!
