Victoria University (VU) offers an exclusive early offer program, called VU Guaranteed. 2. Be automatically considered for a VU Ignite Scholarship or VU Ignite Grant (domestic students)
3. Free access to EdUnlimited study resources via an EdUnlimited account
4. If you apply for a VU Course that requires an ATAR as part of the admission criteria for that Course, you will receive an additional 5 ATAR adjustment points that will be added to your ATAR when your application for that Course is considered (unless you have applied for the Bachelor of Education (P-12)); and
5. Tailored advice to assist with your Course selection and to suggest alternative Courses as appropriate.
If you are successful in your VU Guaranteed application, VU may also invite you to events and other opportunities offered to VU Guaranteed students.
To be eligible for VU Guaranteed, you must:
1. Submit your VU Guaranteed application during the VU Guaranteed Application Period;
2. Be a current student in Year 11 or 12 at one of VU’s Partner Schools;
3. Successfully complete Year 12 (including scored or unscored VCE, IB, or VCAL); and

VU recommends submitting your application well before the closing date in case of any technical difficulties. VU is not responsible for technical difficulties with the application form and does not warrant that the form will be available at all times.
For students applying in year 11, the program will be for two years, and for year 12’s applying for the first time the program will be for one year.
VU will aim to notify you of the outcome of your VU Guaranteed application by email within seven (7) days of submitting your completed VU Guaranteed application.
All VU Guaranteed application decisions of VU and its staff are final and cannot be contested by students.
If your VU Guaranteed application is successful, to gain entry into a VU or VU Polytechnic Course you must:
1. apply for a place in your preferred Course(s) at VU or VU Polytechnic (through VTAC during VTAC’s application/preferencing periods) or VU Polytechnic (directly to VU Polytechnic during the application periods for the VU Polytechnic apply Direct Course); and
2. meet the Admission Criteria for the Course(s) you apply for (if you receive a VU Guaranteed place and you do not meet the admission criteria for the Course(s) you apply for, VU will provide an alternative Course suggestion).
If you are offered a VU Guaranteed place you are not obligated to apply for a VU or VU Polytechnic Course, or to enrol in any Course you are accepted into, but failure to do so will forfeit your VU Guaranteed place.
Some ATAR Courses have limited places available, VU Guaranteed students receive 5 ATAR adjustment points to give additional consideration however students still must be ranked highly enough to receive an offer inclusive of adjustments. VU will provide suggestions of additional alternative Courses to preference or apply Direct for in these cases. VU encourages students to apply Direct for VU Polytechnic Courses early to avoid disappointment.
If a Course reaches capacity, and VU is unable to offer an otherwise eligible student a place in a preferred Course, VU will provide suggestions of an alternative Course.
I already completed the VU Guaranteed application, why do I also have to submit a Course application?
A VU Guaranteed application is not a Course application. You must also submit a Course application to be eligible for a VU Guaranteed place at VU.
You can submit a Course application through VTAC (during their application/preferencing periods) or directly to VU Polytechnic for any apply Direct Courses.
If you fail to submit or complete submission of a Course application for a VU higher education or VU Polytechnic Course, or post offer, do not supply the information or complete the documentation required to enrol in your offered Course, you will forfeit your VU Guaranteed place.
No. VU is not obligated to offer you a place in the Course(s) you have applied for, and may instead offer you a place in an alternative Course of VU’s selection for which you are eligible. You must meet the entry requirements for the Course to be considered for a place in that Course (entry requirements are subject to change at VU’s discretion).
I am applying through VTAC & have preferenced Courses at other institutions, will I still get a VU Guaranteed offer?
If you are applying through VTAC you will only get offered a Course at VU if VU is your highest eligible preference and you are eligible for that Course.
If you do not meet the entry requirements of the VU or VU Polytechnic Course(s) you have applied for, VU will recommend an alternative Course (based on your results and outcome of additional selection tasks). You are not obligated to enrol in the alternative Course but if you do not you will forfeit your VU Guaranteed place.
If your VU Guaranteed application is unsuccessful, you may reapply for VU Guaranteed. You may also still apply for VU and VU Polytechnic Courses (but will not be guaranteed entry into a VU or VU Polytechnic Course). VU will provide you further information when advising you of your VU Guaranteed application outcome.
Incomplete VU Guaranteed applications or VU Guaranteed applications received outside the Application Period, will not be eligible to be considered for VU Guaranteed.
VU reserves the right to offer as many (or as few) VU Guaranteed places as it sees fit each year. VU is under no obligation to offer any VU Guaranteed places.
For VU Guaranteed students eligible to commence a Higher Education course in 2024, Conditional Offers will be made for select courses of VU’s choosing. Students eligible for a Conditional Offer who were accepted into VU Guaranteed between April – July will receive a Conditional Offer in August. Students eligible for a Conditional Offer who were accepted into VU Guaranteed between August – October will receive a Conditional Offer in October. The Conditional Offer Course will be selected based on the answers provided in your VU Guaranteed application and be made on the basis of Year 12 admission requirements.
VU reserves the right to add/remove courses eligible for Conditional Offers at any time and make adjustments to the dates hey are released.
For your Conditional Offer to be converted to a full offer via VTAC during the advertised VTAC rounds, you will need to add the Course to your VTAC preference list and meet the admission requirements. If you don’t meet the admission requirements for your Conditional Offer, we will provide you with an alternative Course recommendation in December to help you achieve your goals. If your Course interests change, don’t worry, you’ll always be assessed for all the Courses in your VTAC preference list and offered your highest eligible preference.
