Uniquely You Engineering Scholarship

The Uniquely You Engineering Scholarship, supported by Robert & Danny Borzillo along with Intrax Consulting Engineers, is established to empower and support high-achieving third-year Civil Engineering students at Victoria University.

This scholarship aims to foster academic excellence, professional development, and inclusive representation within the engineering sector.

Through a structured partnership between Victoria University and Intrax, the scholarship provides financial support as well as a six-month paid cadetship at Intrax, offering hands-on industry experience to students who come from underrepresented backgrounds who can demonstrate equity-related disadvantage.

Eligibility

To be considered for the Uniquely You Engineering Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be currently enrolled in the third year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil Engineering) at Victoria University
  • Maintain a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0
  • Agree to participate in a 6-month paid cadetship at Intrax, which includes mentoring
  • Identify as coming from an underrepresented background, such as:
    • Refugee or migrant student
    • First Nations
    • Women in engineering
    • First in family to attend university
    • Regional or rural student
  • Show evidence of equity-related need, including financial hardship, systemic discrimination, and generational barriers to education.

Value

  • This scholarship is valued at $10,000.
  • Scholarships will be paid in two instalments, subject to satisfactory academic progression.
    • First instalment of $5,000 to be paid in October 2025
    • Final instalment of $5,000 to be paid in March 2026.

Assessment & selection

  • Applications will be shortlisted by a representative of the VU Scholarships Office.
  • Shortlisted applicants will then be reviewed by the donor.
