Uniquely You Biomedicine Scholarship

The Uniquely You Biomedicine Scholarship, supported by VIAS and Mr Pham Tan Nghia, empowers talented and determined Victoria University students to succeed in their studies and build pathways to meaningful careers in medicine, allied health and related fields.

The scholarship supports students who demonstrate aspiration and potential but face financial or other specific barriers to education. It provides steady financial assistance so students can focus on their studies, remain enrolled and continue working towards their goals.

Recipients may also have access to mentoring and leadership development opportunities designed to build confidence, professional networks and future capability.

Eligibility

To be considered for the Uniquely You  Biomedicine Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be currently enrolled in First Year Bachelor of Biomedicine
  • May face financial or other specific barriers to accessing or continuing their education
  • maintain a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.5
  • demonstrate aspiration, commitment to their studies and an interest in a future career in medicine, allied health or a related field
  • agree to participate in relevant mentoring, leadership or development opportunities, where offered

Priority may be given to students who are first in their family to attend university; are from refugee, migrant or culturally diverse backgrounds; speak English as an additional language; or experience other barriers to education.

Supporting documents

Supporting documents may include a Centrelink statement or Health Care Card, a recent payslip, or a letter from a school, community organisation or support professional. A brief personal statement may be accepted where documentation is unavailable. Please do not include detailed or sensitive personal information.

Value

This scholarship is valued at up to $30,000.

Scholarships will be paid in instalments, subject to satisfactory academic progression

Assessment & selection

Applications will be shortlisted by the VU Scholarships Office against the published eligibility and assessment criteria.

Shortlisted applications will then be considered by the Uniquely You Scholarship Selection Panel.
