About

Hongyu has over 10 years’ relevant experience on Chinese language teaching and project coordination.

Hongyu started her journey of Chinese language teaching in 2012. She delivered Chinese lessons to school students and adults in Thailand during 2012-2014. Then she worked as a program coordinator collaborating on the Chinese volunteer teacher program with the Thai Ministry of Education during 2014-2017.

Hongyu joined VBCI as a Mandarin teacher and moved to Melbourne in 2017. She coordinated VBCI's cultural events and business activities, Chinese language proficiency tests, and Chinese Bridge Competition currently. She was also in charge of relationship building between VBCI and the communities, ie. local schools, and local libraries.

Qualification

MA. Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (Zhengzhou University), BA. Teaching Chinese as Secondary Language (Zhengzhou University)
