About

Dr Catherine Kamphuisis is an Adjunct Associate Professor in paramedicine.

Catherine is trained in endocrinology with a speciality in renal physiology. In recent years, Catherine has developed an interest in stress management, resilience and wellbeing across the lifespan, particularly looking at the psychosocial factors in special populations like the elderly, which can influence physiological responses, including blood pressure regulation and the immune response.

Catherine delivers lectures in the specialised fields of renal physiology, endocrinology, neurological disorders, wellness, stress and death education. She has a passion for education and is undertaking research aimed to identify ways in which to engage students, increase their resilience and manage stress so as to maximise their opportunities for a positive and rewarding academic experience.

Within paramedicine, she is interested in research aimed at improving the efficiency and efficacy of healthcare delivery through analysis of the factors that impact upon pre-hospital delivery of emergency medicine. Her interest in geriatric health and wellbeing have led her to research interests around evaluating the patterns of and reasons for usage by the geriatric population of pre-hospital emergency medicine sector.
