Dr Marin joined Victoria University in January 2014 as a Research Fellow with the Institute of Sport, Exercise & Active Living (ISEAL). She obtained her PhD in Science (Physiology Department) from University of São Paulo in 2011.

Her research focuses on how an adverse environment in utero appears to program physiology and metabolism permanently, increased morbidity and mortality as well as an increased predisposition to adult diseases. She has extensive experience and training within the fields of nutrition, physical activity, physiology and public health.

As a part of the Exercise Science research team in ISEAL, Dr Marin is working with human and experimental models investigating the effect of exercise training on glucose homeostasis, mitochondrial function and bone health in those born with low birth weight.
