VU retains position amongst the world's best
Victoria University (VU) is proud that we have retained our position amongst the world’s best, appearing in the top 4% of universities worldwide in the 2016/17 QS World University Rankings, released 6 September 2016.
The QS World University Rankings rates more than 900 universities worldwide based on six performance indicators across four focus areas: research, teaching, employability and internationalisation.
One of 35 Australian universities to be ranked in the 2016/17 ranking, VU has continued its tradition of listing in the world’s top 4% of universities. This reflects our ongoing commitment to creating opportunities and success for our students, as well as our industry and community partners.
VU’s expertise in the field of computer science and information systems has been recognised once again, with the University ranking in the 301-350 band for the second consecutive year.
Today we are one of Australia’s most diverse universities. With a growing research profile and hundreds of courses – from vocational courses through to PhDs – we create opportunity and success for over 40,000 students.
As VU celebrates its centenary of education and shapes a future as the University of Opportunity and Success, this result reinforces our reputation as an open, excellent and internationally engaged university – one which creates exceptional value for any student from any background.
Victoria University Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Peter Dawkins, said the latest QS results are a significant achievement.
“This is a solid result which confirms the international standing of our scholarship and research. We remain committed to enhancing the quality and impact of our research, particularly in our areas of strength, alongside providing our students with high quality education opportunities that assure them future success.”
