The Melbourne Market Challenge is a team-based experience that combines food, culture, teamwork, and community. You’ll travel with other VU students, take part in a guided market tour, enjoy lunch and networking, and compete in a series of fun team challenges.
Guided market tour
Your day at Queen Victoria Market will begin with a guided tour.
The tour guide will introduce you to the market, its history, culture, different areas and traders. Your guide will also have a copy of the Challenge Booklet and will share information that may help you answer some of the questions later.
Pay close attention to the guide! You may hear important information and clues that will help your team complete the challenge. Listen carefully, take in the information and work together! Your team will work together to complete fun activities throughout the market,

Event day: 17 September 2026
9.30am – Arrival & registration at P Building East Courtyard Footscray Park
10am – Depart Footscray Park
10.40am – Arrive at Queen Victoria Market
10.40–11.40am – Guided market tour
11.40am–12.20pm – Lunch, refreshments & networking
12.20–2pm – Melbourne Market Challenge
2–2.30pm – Team results, reflections & prize announcements
2.30pm – Depart Queen Victoria Market
3pm – Return to Footscray Park Campus

This event is for Victoria University students. Places are limited to 25 students, so make sure you register early!

A $10 deposit is required to secure your place, and it will be refunded after you attend the event. Cancellations within 72 hours of the event will forfeit the deposit.
