Connections with industry
We work closely with industry so that you can succeed where it counts: in the workplace. Through Learning in the Workplace and Community you will gain practical work experience in a trade, industry or profession as you study.
Course content is practical and based on industry needs, so you will be job-ready from the day you graduate.
International education
Our institution is a respected and high performing institution delivering education in Australia and internationally through our transnational programs offered through our offshore partner institutions.
We deliver courses in more the nine countries to over 7,000 students globally. We are one of the largest providers of Australian qualifications delivered in the People's Republic of China.
Research
In December 2012, some of our research focus areas have been recognised for excellence by the Australian Research Council (through the second evaluation of Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA)).
Over 1,000 leading researchers from Australia and abroad participated in the ERA assessment process as evaluation committee members or peer reviewers.
We currently have an ERA rating of 5 in:
- human movement and sports science, which includes elite athlete development, gait analysis in older people and diabetes research
- electrical and electronic engineering, which includes research into control systems and signal and image processing received a rating of 5, higher than both Monash University and University of Melbourne
- pharmacology and pharmaceutical science, including cancer and gene therapy research.
An ERA rating of 5 is characterised by evidence of outstanding performance well above world standard presented by the suite of indicators used for evaluation.
