Re-enrolling
If you are an existing Victoria University (VU) student, you will receive re-enrolment information at the beginning of each academic year. The information may be sent to you online, as an email to your student email account, by mail or by SMS.
If you are a Higher Education or TAFE International student and you have missed your scheduled enrolment session, contact your College immediately to seek advice. For general information about enrolment you may also refer to our Student Guide.

Enrolment session
Before enrolling you will be notified by email, mail or SMS when and where your enrolment will be. Missing your scheduled enrolment session may result in a late enrolment charge and/or reinstatement charge.
You must attend enrolment on the day, time and venue specified on your enrolment letter. Please allow 3-4 hours for enrolment.
If you can't personally attend enrolment make sure to organise a proxy to enrol on your behalf. The proxy must bring a signed A47 Enrolment by Proxy form with them on the day.
Changing your course
If you transfer into a new course, you will need to provide proof of identity and proof of citizenship again, or you will not be able to enrol.
You will also be required to complete a new HECS-HELP/FEE-HELP/VET FEE-HELP request form and submit it with your enrolment form.
Please note that you will not be able to re-enrol if you have outstanding fees.
Choosing your units
Your Course Coordinator or College representative will authorise your Unit(s) of Study enrolment details on the enrolment form. It is your responsibility to:
- choose units that fit your course structure (both core units and electives)
- check whether there are any pre-requisite and co-requisite units you need to satisfy
- re-enrol for both semesters.
Ensure you seek advice from your College before re-enrolling if you need help in choosing your units.
You can amend your enrolment without incurring Unit of Study charges or late withdrawal/fail results until the relevant Census date in each semester.
However, for Higher Education and TAFE Diploma and above students, amendments made after the enrolment amendment date in each semester will attract a late amendment fee per form. Please refer to fee dates in the higher education calendar.
Re-enrolment schedule
Postgraduate courses in Arts and Education (29 January to 18 February).
Late re-enrolment and penalties
If you are a Higher Education or TAFE International student and you have missed your scheduled enrolment session, contact your College immediately to seek advice. The University imposes financial penalties for late re-enrolment. These penalties cannot be removed by the College, so please ensure you enrol on the date and time scheduled or arrange a proxy to enrol on your behalf.
- After Monday 14 January – a $260.00 late enrolment penalty applies
Renew your Student ID
Continuing students who have paid their fees for the current year can update their existing Student ID card at a Student Service Centre.
To avoid having to queue to get your photo taken on campus, you can also submit your own student ID photo online. Your ID card will then be printed, and available for collection at your preferred Student Service Centre.
