Join the Student Representative Group program

The Student Representative Group (SRG) program at VU Sydney offers students meaningful opportunities to participate in volunteer work within university activities. As volunteers, students will dedicate their time and skills to various community service projects organised by the University.

We are looking for friendly, energetic and highly motivated students. If you're interested in joining the program, contact the Student Engagement Officer at VU Sydney.

About the program

The primary objective of the SRG is to empower a selected group of students to represent the student body effectively. This involves organising structured group meetings to ensure proper recognition and representation of the student body.

The SRG aims to:

  • enhance the advancement of student life, quality education, and student participation
  • contribute to the improvement of student life in both academic and social aspects
  • bridge the gap between students and management
  • foster an inclusive environment that recognizes and represents students from all cultural groups
  • improve transparency through consistent communication with VU students
  • encourage and support active participation of all students in community engagement.

V4U Day is Victoria University’s largest community volunteering event, held over a full day every year. This year, V4U Day will take place on Friday 25 October.

This event involves students, alumni and staff members taking part in volunteering activities across Sydney.

Since V4U Day began in 2011, VU have partnered with more than 80 unique organisations in Melbourne’s west, and we are running it for the second time at our VU Sydney Campus.

V4U Day has received:

  • Winner - Most Successful Event award at the 2020 CampusLink Awards
  • Highly Commended – Most Successful Event award at the 2018 CampusLink Awards
  • Citation for Excellence in Service at the 2015 Vice Chancellor’s Awards
  • Best Event award in 2012 by the Australian Association of Campus Activities.
