The MBA (Global) helps you develop your analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills critical to a truly global business career.

The MBA course's focus ensures you will create more significant networks of influence and change to become a real world citizen – adaptable, resilient, and with deep concern for social justice.

Our Business Consulting unit will give you the skills and knowledge to pursue a career in consulting, or to act as an internal consultant within an organisation.

You will design, research and manage a business consulting project, and deliver solutions and practical recommendations to satisfy a real-world client.

You will benefit from authentic engagement with clients, and targeted feedback from experienced industry practitioners.

The course is highly practical, emphasising applying new knowledge gained to workplace settings, making MBA (Global) graduates work-ready.

The combined experiences in the MBA (Global) prepare you for the real world of work by developing your ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ skills.

You will become adept at interpersonal skills, including:

• effective communications (written and spoken)
• pitching
• influencing
• teamwork and collaboration
• critical thinking
• ethical awareness.

We also emphasise tech-readiness so that you can apply your business skills in today's digital environment.

If you have an Australian bachelor degree in business (or similar discipline), you may be eligible for an exemption of 48 credit points of study.

If you receive 48 credit points for previous study, you may be able to qualify with an MBA (Global) in 1.5 years, enabling you to launch your global business career sooner.

Following the overwhelming success of the revolutionary VU Block Model® with undergraduate students, from 2021 we will start rolling out the Block Model to our postgraduate courses.

This course will be delivered in an eight-week mode, which means you study two units (subjects) at a time over eight weeks (or one unit at a time over eight weeks for part-time study), rather than juggling several units at once. And with its focused timetables and smaller, collaborative classes, the VU Block Model® gives you more time to connect with your peers, lecturers and industry partners, helping you to build strong professional networks.

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Critically reflect upon theoretical and practical knowledge of people and organisations as they operate within a regulated environment nationally, regionally and internationally
2. Exemplify cognitive, technical and creative skills to recognise, define, analyse, and solve organisational and business problems and inform management decision making in local and global contexts
3. Critically apply cross disciplinary knowledge in decision making with creativity for innovation and dynamic contexts
4. Communicate effectively to specialist and non- specialist audiences including multi-disciplinary teams, diverse cultural communities in business and other professional organisations
5. Work as a reflective practitioner to collaborate productively in culturally diverse contexts, implementing ethical and socially responsible approaches to managing people and organisations
6. Collaborate in teams to effectively operate in complex multicultural organisations and environments, demonstrating global leadership capability, including interpersonal skills to adapt to emerging contexts
7. Evaluate and apply research principles and methods to plan and develop a strategy to conduct substantial consulting or business projects with a high level of personal autonomy and accountability.

You must provide evidence that you have completed an approved English language test, and achieved the result as described below:

• IELTS (Academic Module): Overall score 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)
• TOEFL Internet: Overall score 79 (section scores no less than: Listening 19, Speaking 19, Reading 18, Writing 22)
• Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score 58-64 (no section score less than 50)
• University of Cambridge - Advanced (CAE): Total score of 176 (no individual band less than 169)
• VU English - University Preparation UPU (Undergraduate): Achieved
• English Language School in Sydney (ELSIS)- EAP 2 (advanced): A grade.

Recognition of prior English language studies

If you have completed a qualification where English was the primary language of instruction, you may be eligible for an English language exemption. Check our Guide to English Language Requirements to find out if you qualify.

Entry into the Master of Business Administration (Global) requires you to have completed:

• an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in any discipline OR
• an Australian Graduate Diploma (or equivalent) in a similar discipline PLUS
• IELTS (or equivalent), with an overall score of 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking).
