Surfing – Australian University Championship (AUC)

Surfing will be held in conjunction with the Eastern University Games. This competition is open to all eligible student athletes from all Australian University Sport regions. 

Australian University Championships are stand-alone events. Each competition is a national competition where students compete in their specific sport against Universities from all over Australia.

Competition format:

• Men’s Stand-Up: maximum 6 competitors
• Women’s Stand Up: maximum 6 competitors
• Men’s Longboard: maximum 2 competitors
• Women’s Longboard: maximum 2 competitors
• Men’s Body Board: maximum 2 competitors
• Women’s Body Board: maximum 2 competitors

Team challenge

A minimum three competitors (must include one woman) with the following breakdown:

• 2 Men’s Stand Up
• 1 Women’s Stand Up
• 1 Long Board (male or female)
• 1 Body Board (male or female).

Eligibility

To be eligible to represent VU, you must be a currently enrolled student. A limited number of non-students can also get involved as managers or coaches. Australian University Championships are targeted at students who have a background in the specific sport and can compete at a reasonably high level.
